Sojourner Truth
Sojourner Truth was born in Ulster County, New York in 1797. "Sojourner Truth" was a self given name, she was born Isabella Baumfree. She was born into slavery in Swartekill, New York, but she escaped with her infant daughter to freedom in 1826."Ain't I a woman?" ,was Sojourner's best given speech on racial inequalities. She spoke out about this in 1851 at the Ohio Women's Rights Convention. She died on November 26,1883 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
